Life is beautiful

Life is beautiful...full of rocks that while they make us stumble are also full of minerals and glistening gems that both sustain us and give us joy and laughter...full of storms that while could be dangerous also give us a sense of peace and cleansing. Friends smiles, hugs from loved ones, and loving words help make life beautiful. The running of a small child with his pup through a field of wild flowers, a cat tussling with a toy mouse, all these things make life wonderful. May God always bless us.

Day by day....day by day...o dear Lord, three things I pray. To see thee more clearly, follow thee more nearly, love thee more dearly, day by day...

Such beautiful words penned  for such a secular culture. I suspect that while the rest of the world was trying to cope with a resigning president because of a scandal and with the morals going downhill and having just come from the selfishness of  the 1960s, the musical "Godspell" as well as the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" were like a breath of fresh air and offered comfort and solace. May His words always give us solace.

Thank God for Fathers. thank God for God the Father. God is a wonderful Father, the King and He has made us all His princes and princesses. God's family is so wonderful and He loves us all. May God always bless us in our families and with our Fathers!!!

Flowers

When I was growing up a Catholic, I crowned Mary. It was a statue of Mary but Catholics believe that Mary could be prayed to for intercessory prayer. And every year Mary was crowned, in an event called the "May Crowning". It was an honor as the other kids sang "Mother Mary now we crown thee"...the little white roses crowned her beautifully and we all revered her and her position in God's kingdom. But I think more importantly Jesus is the one that should wear the crown. For He is our savior, king and ruler of all of us. He and He alone should be the one we worship and adore. While Mary played a significant role in the raising of Christ and as one who is without sin or blemish, Jesus was actually the one who was without sin or blemish. He is the reason we can be saved. May we never forget this.
