Ready!!!
Many people are ready. Ready to play. Ready to work. Ready to study. Ready to perform. Ready for bed. Many are getting ready. Getting ready to go to work. Getting ready to write a paper. Getting ready for a performance. Preparing for sleep. Many car advertisements tell us its wise to winterize and get ready for the winter or summarize and get ready for the summer. Do we really know what it is to get and be ready? What of the 10 virgins with their lamps? Several were sleeping and hence never trimmed their lamp. But the others prepared. What does that mean? It means that while waiting for their master some put off the preparations while others made daily preparations. And that's where we are. We have so many distractions from what will really get us ready that we put off what we should do to prepare for the return of Jesus. May our daily resolution be to continually prepare for the coming of Christ and not put off our spiritual lives.

Busy as a bee
Being so busy is not important. Being continuously busy, ah that's an issue. I won't say it's hard labor. I don't move boulders or carry 2X4's on my back. But I do supervise and am expected to have answers. And I come home and am expected to have answers. And guess what? Many times I don't. Some things are definite violations of regulations and directives and then decisions are easy. But some times even when looking things up there are grey areas. And guess who bears the brunt of decisions... I am responsible for whatever decision I make.... even if I didn't cause the situation. Or I come in the middle of the situation.
All of us have responsibilities to take. Even if the decisions we make are not reflective of what we can in fact do. We take responsibilities, I have responsibilities for my job, my employees, my home life, and what self-control I exhibit. That self-control comes from God, it is a fruit of the Spirit. How do I partake of it? Prayer consistently, when I am tired, when I am sad, when I am hurting, prayer that God endows me with the strength to hold it together because quite frankly I cannot do it on my own.

My journey
What does it mean to be on a journey? Does it mean walking a path unknown to you and others? Does it mean a well designed way to go and not deviate? Or does it mean to walk with someone that we trust and love because we want to make a way to a certain time or place? The path for me has been following bricks that have been laid by God. I know He knows exactly where I am going. There has to be a modicum, just a modicum, of trust, because God can take me by the hand and lead me into wherever He needs me to reflect His Son, to show His love. May we all strive to be 1 in Him.
