Peace

We live in a world that turns upside down and downside up every day. Every minute of every hour of every day. We live in a world where we can be peaceful in one second, dealing with a car accident, loss of loved ones or friends, home burglary, insurmountable bills the next. We live in a world that we just don't get, even the best of the brightest don't know what the next idiot's moves are. We live in a world where those who have been put in charge are expected to be equal to those who are their subordinates. And while personally they are, professionally those in leadership are entitled to respect. A world upside down. Christ tells us to submit. We are to submit one to another. And this is the only way to live in this crazy world....to submit.... as a leader we submit by being cordial, respectful of others' opinions, helpful. kind....as a subordinate it means being respectful, cordial, helpful and kind. We all have different roles literally and because of that we must understand that some of us are leaders and some of us are subordinates....and if we don't submit in this earth, we won't submit to God. This earth is practice on how to learn the depths of God's love. Heaven is the real world. Allelelulia!

Awesome God!!!

I guess my first experience with God is the most telling...or I should say the first time I was truly aware of God's awesome grace and power. I was a freshman at Tulane in New Orleans. I had just failed my first General Chem test. And I was desperate. I wanted to  work with animals, maybe even to be a veterinarian. I had to pass Chemistry or else it might curtail my career with animals, whatever that was going to be. I had not accepted Christ yet, even though my parents taught me about God, Being raised Catholic, the best I did was to know about God and what he did in the old testament if His children didn't obey Him. But one thing, I knew how to pray, taught to me by the sweetest of all nuns at the high school I went to, Sr. Cameron. I prayed to God that if He wanted me to be a veterinarian, that I would need to pass Chemistry. Not only did I pass Chemistry, I made an A- in the class. I knew it had to be Him because no way I could do this on my own. So I praise God for the path He put me on, not always smooth, sometimes lonely, always full of adventure. Thank You Father!

Prayer time

Buddhists call it meditation...but that is only one part of pray....the quiet space in your heart where you reach to God and He reaches back. Our hearts love the contact, we know God loves the contact and He actually initiated it in the first place...and regardless of whether it is imploring or pleading or praising God enjoys all of our company and contact. Try it some time. Try being quiet for a little bit concentrating on the love of a God that made us. May He bless us constantly.

Tomato, tomato

If you are like me, mispronunciation of names or words worries you to death, to the point of correcting the speaker, to the point of not liking whatever was said because of it and missing the meaning of the speech rather than understanding the big picture. But we need to realize that God made us unique, and that mistakes that we make in grammar are unique to our decision-making capacities, some which are spot on, some which aren't and need polishing. But it doesn't mean that we are totally wrong, it just means we need perhaps more polishing, more researching, more looking into what is the right way to do things? All of us make mistakes and will only be perfected in Christ. To Him be the glory!!!
