Here we are

We always come to a crossroads in our life. Whether we fall or rise doesn't matter. It's how we deal with whether we fall or rise. And It will always be like this. Do we have to the character to withstand both situations? Falling will put us into depression if we let it winding up in a crash if we believe what is being told to us that we are no good, just a lump on a log or just plain dumb. What a despairing thought! And if we rise our pride will tell us we can do no wrong. We have to learn to give credit to God. No matter what fall on our knees to Him.

So here we are! What will we do?

All you need is love

Many say we need money, we need time, we need a gun, we need protection.... The Beatles said all we need is love and that is actually what I am thinking as well. All we need is love. Love conquers everything. Love covers all things. It covers elder parents that still treat their 57 year old daughter as though she were 10 years old. It covers people who lie to others. It even covers murderers and pedofiles. We cannot see it but we cannot stop any division or hatred by dissallowing certain objects and tools that we want to use for evil desires. Any more than we can grow more hair. God is love. and it is His choice not to control our use of such weapons. He chooses instead to teach us a better way. May we all learn more and more how to love one another.

God vs. me

Is it God that is to blame when I fall on my face? Is it me? Is it Satan? Answer: yes, yes, and YES!. I don't know that blame is the word for anyone in the above question, but I do know that three are involved in falling, whether God allows or directly intervenes (by stopping me before I fall too far or maybe by putting whatever made me fall in my direct path), and whether or not I chose whatever direction made me fall, and whether or not Satan pushed my buttons that caused my bad choices or he himself gave me the the push. I don't know what is more significant, what is more important, and what is more pronounced. But I do know that what ever event occurs we have a choice to either act or stop and that God is in control of all things above and regardless of what happens, He is the author of our salvation!! And Satan is the great deceiver!! Run to God!!! Run!!! Your life depends on it!!!

Entitlement vs help

What is the difference between entitlement and help? In religious terms it's doing good deeds so that one can be in heaven vs there is nothing we can do so God's grace covers us like a poncho in rain so that we can get into heaven. There are two maxims in this world: 1) there is no free lunch, 2) one cannot simply cannot prep oneself by saying, "I'm entitled because I am poor" and expect to ride on someone's coat tails forever. Actually these are both different sides of the same coin, namely that do not expect that help will last forever because it cannot. Think about this, because of welfare, the working class' taxes rise. The money has to come from somewhere. There is no free lunch. On the flip side, nothing I can or you can or anyone can do will entitle us to anything from God. Yet God says He will save us and gives us His Son and Spirit that we can conquer anything this world throws at us. Is that a payment for work? No we work because that is how we were made, to be His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), thanks to Adam and Eve who really never had to work for anything until they were thrown out of paradise. When Jesus arrived on the scene, His blood and Spirit covered us so that we could be saved but it was not because we worked hard for it but because of God's grace we are able to work for Him.
