Entitlement vs help

What is the difference between entitlement and help? In religious terms it's doing good deeds so that one can be in heaven vs there is nothing we can do so God's grace covers us like a poncho in rain so that we can get into heaven. There are two maxims in this world: 1) there is no free lunch, 2) one cannot simply cannot prep oneself by saying, "I'm entitled because I am poor" and expect to ride on someone's coat tails forever. Actually these are both different sides of the same coin, namely that do not expect that help will last forever because it cannot. Think about this, because of welfare, the working class' taxes rise. The money has to come from somewhere. There is no free lunch. On the flip side, nothing I can or you can or anyone can do will entitle us to anything from God. Yet God says He will save us and gives us His Son and Spirit that we can conquer anything this world throws at us. Is that a payment for work? No we work because that is how we were made, to be His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), thanks to Adam and Eve who really never had to work for anything until they were thrown out of paradise. When Jesus arrived on the scene, His blood and Spirit covered us so that we could be saved but it was not because we worked hard for it but because of God's grace we are able to work for Him.
